The New Brunswick All-American Soap Box Derby (NBAASBD) is a first for the region and is modelled after the Canadian version of the All-American Soap Box Derby. The goal is to raise money to send as many deserving kids as possible from New Brunswick to Camp Awesome this coming summer. At the NBAASBD, children, volunteers, and sponsors will gather at the Hatheway Pavilion on Lily Lake, in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 27th – 29th, 2011, to race the soap box cars that are being brought in from the Derby’s headquarters in Akron, Ohio.
The young racers will comprise of children from the ages of 8 – 17 who will be paired with a sponsor and pit crew. Two winners and an adult supervisor will be given paid transportation to Akron, Ohio, to compete in the National All-American Soapbox Derby in July.
In order to make this event a success, we will be looking to the community for sponsorship and participation. The NBAASBD will need 24 Stock Division Car sponsors and 24 Super Stock Division Car sponsors as well as many volunteers for this event.
