no fishing derby

My family was very sad to hear that the annual fishing derby is not happening this year. Our children loved the opportunity to participate with their father and uncles. Does anyone know why it was cancelled?

Hi Barbara,

The fishing derby was run by an outside group. From what we were told here in the Park, they felt that the event was getting getting stale and thought it was a good year to take a break and come up with some new ideas. They do plan on having one in 2012.

New Trail Signs Going Up!

All of the backwoods trails will soon be marked every 30 m in both directions with reflective trail signs. My goal is to get more people to explore the over 50 km of trails that Rockwood has to offer.
