I took a walk around Lily Lake last evening and noticed how much "leftovers" were left on the ice from the Pavillion Cup. Once the ice melts, the orange netting left behind could post a danger to the fish stock as well as the people who use the lake for recreation in the summer.
The Pavillion Cup was a GREAT success for this city and it's very surprising that such a well organized event did not follow through with the total clean up of the lake afterwards. It's not just the debris on the ice but I even noticed that they left a sign by the community garden "Pavillion Cup Shuttle".
Do they have to wait until the ice melts now in order to finish the clean up?

I was not aware of the sign by the community garden; however I'll go over and get that myself before the end of the day. As for the items on the ice, due to safety concerns, we have to wait until we can get on the water with a canoe. As soon as we are able to get on the lake safely, we will head out to gather the remainder of the snow fencing. If anything is not retrievable by boat (i.e. if it sinks) we have a certified diver who has volunteered to retrieve the left over items.
Thanks for the question!
Hurst
